Thank you for visiting this page! Here at Hook’s List, we spotlight areas needing our support.
There are countless deserving businesses in need of support that have been impacted by things outside of their control. We believe that in order to show our commitment to the well-being of the many businesses that support our boaters and this site, we need to put our doubloons where our mouths are! We will donate 3% of our pre-tax revenues to worthy causes and will show where those contributions go.
This page will periodically shift its focus to different areas in need, but the entire 2024 boating season will be spotlighting the businesses helping to clean our waterways.
The Ocean Cleanup
One of the causes that is closest to our hearts is the cleanup of the waterways of our wondrous world. Garbage and plastic are overwhelming our globe and we need to put our brilliant minds together to solve this problem. We CAN do it, and we will, but how long that takes depends on YOU and your desire to drive action in some way. We at Hook’s List are committed enough to contribute 3% of pre-tax revenues to the organizations we believe are doing exceptional work.

What we love about this story is that, over a decade ago a young Dutch man, Boyan Slat, embarked on a mission to develop new technology to help solve the growing problem of garbage accumulating in the rivers and oceans. At the age of 18, he gave an inspiring presentation at TEDx that went viral. This catapulted him into the spotlight and gave him a platform to shed light on new technologies we can harness to solve this problem. Now, there are over 400 people who work at The Ocean Cleanup. They are a non-profit organization and rely on donations to develop and deploy the greatest innovations to capture and process the masses of humanity’s waste that have gathered in the ocean garbage patches, and the rivers that feed them.
